Wells Bristol & District League Match vs. Tracey Park
Wells GC went into their final Bristol & District League match knowing that a win or a half would gain them promotion. They entertained Tracy Park GC who had given them a sound beating at the beginning of the season, but were struggling laterly. Rich Connock and Simon Jackson lost the first match 2&1.Will Thompson and Rob Payne couldn`t find their usual winning ways and went down 3&2. Baden Wilkinson and Sam Todd struggled and lost 4&2. Nick Wilson and Pascal Norman had a tough time going four down at one stage, but fought back to be all square on the 17th. Unfortunately, they lost both of the last two holes to submit two down. Glen Crocker and Alan Todd were seven up at the turn and eased to a hollow 6&4 victory. Wells have had an incredible topsy turvy season which nearly ended with the early threat of relegation. Thankfully the team comfortably avoided this through a mid/late season unbeaten run, but failed at the final hurdle with a defeat which meant no promotion.
