On the Course...
On Sunday the Wells Stragglers played their last match of the season away to Mendip Springs. With Water in the Lakes and Streams, aided by a heavenly top up, it was time for Wells (even though our City name implies we are happy with water) to recognise that things were not in our favour. The result was a win for Mendip Springs by 3&2. Steve Porter and Philip Kenworthy lost 3&2, Steve Heath who "lipped out" on the 18th to win the match with his Partner Ken Ford achieved a half, Terry Pearce (Magnificent Leader and Captain) with his partner John Baker won 4&3, Terry Searle and Gary Leigh lost 5&4 and Richard Mansfield and Pete Michell achieved a very creditable half.
Good luck for next season is required as this season's results were played 14, lost 11 and won 3. Calls for the Manager to be sacked have not been heard as "Loyalty" is the name of the game within The Stragglers!

Re-gripping Offer!
Grab yourself a bargain on selected sets of grips all with FREE fitting. All Egigo grips available at £5.95 per grip or get a set of seven for only £35! This offer is only available while stocks last.
This range is the perfect blend between the Revolution range and the Evolution range and has seen an improvement against the last ability of this grip using fibre glass injected fibres into the elastomer polymer material for an amazing grip both wet and dry, with a super long resistance to wear.
Why is re-gripping beneficial?
Re-gripping is normally used to replace the stock grips found on clubs which are the wrong size or a grip which has seen better days. It's good to choose a grip that best matches the size of your hands. When considering this, it's good to select a material, texture, design and colour that's best suited to your style, playing level, and weather conditions. However, one of the most popular and main reasons we change the grips are to replace worn-out, slick grips that contribute to excessive grip tension and pressure.
In theory, grips should be replaced every 40 rounds or every 30 rounds if you're spending a considerable amount of time at the practice range. Regardless of rounds played, a grip should always be replaced at the first sign of noticeable wear such as hard surfaces, shinny patches, cracks, wear spots and complete loss of tack.
Improperly sized grips and grips that aren't suited for certain weather conditions will negatively impact your game and cost you strokes. Comfort, consistency, shot dispersion and shot distance can all be improved with new golf grips.
In the professional shop we offer a wide variety of size, material and style options to suit the needs of all golfers. There is no fitting costs for the grips and grips start from £6.95.
