Sports Psychology Evening - Wednesday, 23 November
Thank you to everyone who came to the Psychology Evening last Wednesday and the event was very well supported with 39 attendees. The evening gave a great insight into the psychology of golf and how you should approach the golf course. Hopefully all that attended have got some new ideas that they can practice and take into their games this winter. Repairing Pitchmarks
Over the last few weeks many of you may have noticed the rise in the amount of pitchmarks left on greens. To ensure that our greens are in good condition throughout the winter it is imperative that you have a pitchmark repairer in your bag. With greens gradually getting softer with the changing weather conditions pitchmarks are made far easier and take longer to heal.
It's vital that you carry a pitchmark repair tool to ensure you leave the green the way you would expect to walk onto it. A good rule of thumb is to repair your own and one other pitchtmark. If you can't find your own or didn't make one then repair at least one mark you find on the green. Correct method for repairing a mark:
Don't push up from the ground with your pitchmark repairer as this destroys the root. But instead push the grass towards the centre of the mark.
Stuck for Christmas ideas?
The Professional Shop offers gift vouchers starting from £5 which make a lovely gift for all types of golfers. We can tailor the amounts to your personal preference to be used in the professional shop.
It's the perfect time of the month to purchase Christmas presents… Don't leave it too late!
Christmas is only round the corner and before you know it everyone will be rushing around to grab last minute presents for friends and family. However, this doesn't have to be the case. Avoid the mad rush and limited stock and get hold of your presents early. Big manufactures in golf such as Callaway, PING and Titleist, will be very busy this time of year so therefore if you wish to make an order, it's safer to order early. To make sure you receive your order in time our team recommend you order in the first week of December to avoid disappointment.
Christmas Raffle
This year's Christmas raffle was a new idea introduced by the professional team and it's fun twist has left limited tickets remaining. The draw has yet to see the owner of the 1p ticket, however, somebody has claimed the unfortunate £5 ticket. Therefore, why not get stuck in for a chance to win some fantastic prizes before all tickets are sold?
The tickets are numbered 1 - 500 and the amount you pay for your ticket is based upon the number of the ticket you draw out of the hat at random. Every ticket number is the amount in pence you pay for your ticket e.g. If you pick ticket number 20 you will pay 20p for your ticket, pick ticket 380 and you pay £3.80 for your ticket. Therefore, the minimum you pay for a ticket is 1p and the maximum is £5. The prize table will be worth over £1,000.
