Get Your 7-Iron Re-Gripped For FREE
The professional shop are currently running a great offer which means you can get your 7-iron re-gripped for FREE, including a top of the range golf pride grip. We have a wide range of grips to choose from and our range has now got even bigger so you're spoilt for choice. Here's a couple of reasons why you should change your worn out grips:
Worn out grips result in the player adding more grip pressure which contributes to more tension in the swing.
Weather conditions such as rain, heat (sweat) and cold conditions effects the way you hold the club, having worn grips only makes matters worse.
Clubs can very easily slip in your hands and this has an effect on your ball striking.
The list of reasons goes on, therefore if your grips are worn out, it's time to make a change. There is a selection of textures, sizes and colours available so you can find the perfect grip for you. Note - Offer is valid for 7-irons only, for more information on grips available, speak to a member of our professional team. Click here to get in touch for more details.
New Arrivals - Golf Pride Tour SNSR Putter Grips
The new SNSR putter grip has a larger Tour proven shape that has been engineered with innovative SNSR materials offering golfers incredible Tour-level feel and feedback. The grip has been made out of a soft-tuned rubber that gives this grip unbelievable feel, and helps encourage a lighter grip pressure. The SNSR compound helps golfers improve distance control as their grip pressure is lighter and therefore promotes a smoother stroke.
In store we have two types of SNSR grips and two sizes to suit all preferences. Details are as follows:
Contour Grip - Black, Red, Yellow (Avaible in standard or mid-sized) - This model has a pistol control with a larger surface area in upper hand helps lock-in grip for repeatable putting motion. The wide paddle front provides a proper thumb placement and face alignment for better results. Lastly, the tapered profile provides a traditional, sculpted grip shape that decreases in size from the top down.
Straight Grip - Black, Blue, Yellow (Avaible in standard or mid-sized) - Tour SNSR straight shape promotes a consistent hand pressure and feel. The straight taper design features soft, rounded edges that are strategically created for palm and finger pad comfort.
Chrome Soft X - £29.95
The Callaway Chrome Soft X golf ball has been launched, adding a lower spinning and firmer model to sit alongside Callaway's popular Chrome Soft. Like the Callaway Chrome Soft the new X model is a four-piece design and will feature a new core for greater ball speed for improved distance.
Like all Callaway golf balls it also shares HEX Aerodynamics that reduce drag to help it stay in the air longer. The Urethane cover increases spin control and feedback for better chipping and putting feel.
The Chrome Soft X has a slightly firmer feel, but more importantly it helps control the deformation of the ball at faster swing speeds. So where the standard Chrome Soft might lose energy for faster swingers, the X model harnesses it to deliver extra ball speed and more distance.
Perfect Your Pitching
Everyone who has ever played the game will know how challenging it is to control the distance the ball travels. This is especially evident when pitching - where it is crucial to get the ball close. This not only means getting the direction right, but also the distance. So ask yourself this question... How good is my distance control inside 75 yards? If you need help with this area of the game we have a few pointers to get you improving quickly:
1. Pick up a wedge which you would like to start with; it doesn't matter which order because in time you will work through all your wedges.
Pick a flat lie with the ball position slightly forward of centre.
You are now going to produce three different swings with the same club maintaining the same swing tempo.
As you can see in the picture, James one of our PGA Professionals demonstrates each club position. All of a sudden you now have three body parts in mind, hips, chest and shoulders... so rather than thinking "I need about a 50% wedge" you can relate to a body part which is easier to guide your swing around. Depending on which wedge you choose will determine the trajectory of the shot, however if you decide you want to hit a shot 50 yards higher or lower you now have more options. One of our professionals recently worked on some yardages with a Wells member (John Hockey).
If you would like to work on your wedge yardages and really push your wedge play, you can book a gapping session on our new golf simulator. For more information on this and to book a session please call the professional shop on 01749 679059 or click here to send us an email.
