County Golfer/Britney Ferries Stableford

Saturday saw the first qualifying event of the year, the County Golfer/Britney Ferries Stableford. Despite the dark and murky start to the day there was some excellent scores produced.

• First place - Ivor Mckeown - 40 points - £88.80.
• Second place - Adam Payne - 39 points - £44.40.
• Third place - Pascal Norman - 38 points (Countback) - £22.20.

Two's - £21.14 each - Mark Western, Jason Huck, David Szymanski, Glyn Hallet , Phil Spring, Alan Elkins and Ian McArthur.

Wells Golf Club - Members Golf Trip to Spain

Last week myself and James took 18 members away for a week's golf and tuition in Spain at the Islantilla Resort. It was an excellent week, with the last two days especially providing some tremendous sunshine. The Islantilla features three nines of varying difficulty with the Blue/Green nines proving to be the most popular layout. The Group was split in to two teams with myself and James as captains. The teams were as follows: 

Team JH - Mike Metcalfe, Malcom Terry, Steve Bocquet, Grant Rogers, Erica Klim, Craig McConnell, Janice White, Beverly Rogers and John Collings.

Team JK - Alan Obern, Lorraine Collings, Jill Bocquet, Scott Barrett, Phil Kenworthy, Richard Sheard, Jon Mackness, Jon Moxon and Geroge White.

The match consisted of a fourball bowmaker, two pairs better ball days, individual stableford and singles match play played to the 18th hole.

The match was dominated by James's team, who won all of the sessions played, with the final score being Team JK - 1128 Team JH- 1064.

US Masters Sweepstake

The Masters is fast approaching with all the top golfers in the world competing at Augusta National. The professional shop will be running a sweepstake leading up to the tournament and a there are some excellent prize funds up for grabs.
