PING Putter Fitting Morning
This Tuesday, 13 June we are running a FREE PING Putter Fitting morning, giving you the chance to try the complete range of the brand new Sigma G range from PING. Why should I be fit for my putter? There are many factors that go into making sure your putter is suited to your game, the obvious factors are length and lie angle, length will be important for controlling strike, and allowing you to get into a good set-up position where your arms hang down from your shoulders, with a tilt from the hips over the ball, allowing you to make a nice solid stroke.
The second is lie angle, this will allow first the putters loft to point at the target and secondly it will allow you to get into a good eye position over the ball allowing you to aim the putter correctly and make good stroke around the target line. A lie angle that is poorly fitted, will put the player in a bad eye position over the ball forcing the player to make compensations in the stroke based on where they perceive the target line to be.
Another important part of the fitting process is getting a putter with the right amount of toe hang (how much the toe of the putter points to the ground when balancing the putter in your fingertips), a putter where the toe points right down at the ground will suit a player with a strong arcing stroke, and vice versa a putter with a toe that doesn't point down at the ground at all will suit a putter with little to no arc in the stroke.
Head style is very important and a player specific part of putter fitting, some players will aim putters will a long line best, while others will aim better with no line at all. It's very much player specific along with head weight will suit certain tempos again this is very much relative to each individual player.
To book one of these putter fittings on Tuesday between 11:00am and 12:30pm, please contact the professional shop here.
