Callaway release new Rogue range

Callaway have just released their new, Callaway Rogue Range for 2018. The Rogue range features all new woods and irons.

The Drivers and Fairway woods feature the jailbreak technology that proved so popular in the epic range. Jailbreak technology is a series of bars that reinforce the clubface making it stronger during impact, reducing energy loss helping you achieve maximum distance. The drivers also feature an aggressively designed aerodynamic sole, which helps increase club head speed for more distance. The driver is available in three different models; Rogue, Rogue Draw and Sub Zero.

Each model is suited to a different type of player, with the standard rogue for players with a relatively neutral flight, the draw versions for those who are looking to reduce any left to right curvature and the sub-zero model is for highspeed/high spin players.

As with previous Callaway models you can adjust the loft by +/- 2 degrees and adjust the face angle to fine tune the driver to meet your requirements.

New Odyssey O Works Black and O Works Red

Odyssey has taken the covers off some new models for its popular O-Works range by launching 12 Odyssey O-Works Black putters and six new O-Works Red head shapes.

Building on the success of O-Works Red line that debuted last July, the new range features 12 all-new Black models, as well as six new Red models.

The new Black and Red ranges also feature new ‘toe-down’ O-Works mallets. These models are designed to naturally rotate like a blade to appeal to golfers with arcing strokes who have historically struggled for consistency with face-balanced mallets.

Odyssey says it results in better-than-blade forgiveness and alignment, while retaining a similar stroke path offered by a blade. In addition, face-balanced putter models still remain for players with straighter putting strokes.

The new putters will also feature the same Microhinge Face Insert Technology that helps impart more topspin at impact, a design that gets the ball rolling on a smoother path straight from impact.

Golf Lessons

This week saw the staging of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship where Tommy Fleetwood staged a tremendous fightback to claim the title. Fleetwood needing some back nine fireworks he stormed home in just 30 shots – six under par to continue what has been an amazing 12 months for the young Englishman. Im sure many of you have been aware that Tommy was one of the hot young talents in world golf, many thought that he would take the golfing world by storm when he claimed his first European tour title in 2013.

However, he then struggled to find form, switching from various coaches and swing techniques in an effort to find form again. But a return to his original coach and continuing to work with his technique he all ready had saw Tommy rise to European number one in 2017 claiming two victories and eight other top 10’s.

It just goes to show that having a golf lesson doesn’t mean pulling everything apart and starting from scratch. It more than often results in refining the technique you already have. We like to avoid modelling swings against the best in the world because what we all need to remember is, major golf tours players spend hours on the range fine tuning their swing and hours in the gym fine tuning their bodies. As a result we choose a goal and swing outcome which is realistic and achievable personally for you.
