Welcome to this week's newsletter bringing you all the latest news from around the club, including a run-down of our competitive schedule in October, a date to add your diary to see what PING can offer you, and forget about the Euromillions rollover, it is a double rollover in-store. October non-qualifying club competitions

Where did that season go?

Somehow we will soon find ourselves in October but we still want to keep your competitive juices flowing with a schedule of Saturday and Sunday competitions with two separate Order of Merits runnning to see who can top our autumn swing.

Check out the schedule below:

Saturday competitions:

- Saturday 5th October
- Saturday 12th October
- Saturday 26th October

Book online through Club V1 with tee bookings from 8:00am to 13:30pm. The format will be an Individual stableford format (full handicap) with men playing from the white tees and ladies from the reds.

Best two scores from three count towards Saturday order of merit, plus weekly prizes.

Sunday competitions:

- Sunday 6th October
- Sunday 13th October
- Sunday 20th October
- Sunday 27th October

No tee booking required for this individual stableford (full handicap) with men playing from the white tees and ladies from the reds.

Best three scores from four to count towards Sunday order of merit, plus weekly prizes

Order of Merit prizes:

The prize breakdown for the Order of Merit is:

1st - £75
2nd - £50
3rd - £25

They've done it again

Without further ado, let us introduce TaylorMade’s scintillating Milled Grind 2 wedge and look at why it's such a good option to be putting in the scoring part of your bag.

Winter is coming

Have you ever noticed how much harder you need to hit your putts in the winter compared to summer? As surfaces begin to slow due to longer grass and wetter greens, the need for a little extra effort on your putting stroke becomes clear.

Should you change your putter?

As putts need to be hit harder to get the ball going the same distance as they do in the summer months, using a heavier putter certainly won’t do you any harm.

The thought here is that a heavier putter will do more of the work for you, allowing for a smooth and more controlled putting stroke.

Whilst still being relatively lightweight compared to some putters, Scotty Cameron's Phantom X 12 putter is certainly an option we'd recommend you trying thanks to its optimised weight distribution.
