The Jack Heginbotham Golf Academy will be starting late nights on the driving range commencing Tuesday 3rd February. The floodlit driving range has 9 under cover bays to protect you from the winter weather, helping to make practice more enjoyable.

From 3rd February the driving range opening hours will be:

Monday - 8:30am - 5pm
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 8:30am - 8pm
Friday - 8:30 - 5pm
Saturday & Sunday 8:00 - 5pm

Golf lessons can be booked with myself during any of the above times to help improve your golf game further.

With the cold weather still upon us it is important golfers keep warm, this could be on the course, on the driving range or even driving home after a long game.

With the new majestic coffee machine installed within the professional shop golfers can warm up with 11 different choices of drink to choose from including coffee make with real coffee beans.

All drinks are £1.

Bowmaker Waltz

The first competition of the year kicked off to a very good start with an entry of 26 teams all competing to grab their first winnings for the season. The stormy weather caused threat to the course overnight however the green staff kept the course open so that the competition could go ahead.

The results were very close between 2nd place and 3rd place with only 1 point between them however 1st place carded an excellent score of 77 points to give them a clear win of 3 points.

Results are as follows:

1st - Stuart Austwick, Phillip Slater, Anthony Wiseman £31 each
2nd - Colin Payne, Tom Pope, Jerry Suenson-Taylor £16 each
3rd - Ron Gay, Ian Mcarthur, Malcom Terry £7 each

The soft greens helped 10 players record a 2 spot which were worth £15.60 per team.

Junior Golf Passport

The junior golf passport has been very successful over the past year after switching from YMG Golf. The Junior passport will be carrying on throughout the winter and into the summer. New courses will be starting Tuesday 3rd February and Saturday session 31st January. For more information please email me or call the professional shop on 01749 679059.
