Captains Challenge - Sunday 8th November
This time of year, poor weather conditions usually mean that competitions are thin on the ground but the annual Wells Captains' Challenge, which pits the skills of the Captains against all contenders. Next year's ladies captain, Gill Magrath and husband Mike, stormed through the opposition and the weather to win with 42 points, well ahead of second placed Jill Bocquet and Stuart Mann's 36 points. However, the Club Captain, Steve Bocquet and Ladies Captain, Janice White with only 34 points were truly challenged and vanquished.

TOM TOM GPS Golf Watch Review
It can be hard measuring how far you have to the green, flag, and hazards without a GPS device however this sleek and simple designed watch has everything you need to gather the perfect yardage!
Our professional shop started to stock this watch a couple of months ago and I was fortunate enough to trial one out here at Wells Golf Club. Golfers can be put off with wearing a watch whilst trying to play golf, however what stood out is the superior comfort of the watch when sat on your wrist.
To operate the watch there is one single button underneath the screen which is great for navigating through each screen, it's simple, easy to use and easy to view.
This GPS watch is a must have this Christmas and I would recommend this to any golfer all aspiring golfers!
What else does the watch have to offer?
You can track your round by entering your scores on the device and this will also track the time of your round
The extra large display makes it easy to read in darkness and daylight
Its waterproof material means you can play in virtually any weather (waterproof up to 50 metres!)
Up to 10 hours battery life in GPS Mode
This watch has everything you would expect from a successful worldwide brand and its sleek lightweight feel means you maintain comfort throughout your round.

Motocaddy S1 Trolley Review
Motocaddy have been producing reliable and quality electric trolleys for years and it's become pretty clear that they have taken over as the leading electric trolley company.
The Motocaddy S1 is a very simple and easy to use trolley with only 2 motions needed to collapse the trolley, this makes it easy to fold away and transport around. When testing the trolley out on the course I was surprised how quiet the trolley was and how smooth the trolley travelled across the terrain.
The elastic straps which are attached at the top and bottom of the trolley are very strong and are securely attached to the trolley, this helps to keep the bag still during motion and reduce your clubs from rattling.
What other factors make this trolley so good?
Battery meter and universal battery tray
Adjustable bag supports and ergonomic handle
Nine speed settings and Speed indicator
New EASILOCK bag securing system
Motocaddy S1 18 Hole Lead Acid - £299.95
Motocaddy S1 18 Hole Lithium - £449.95*
Take advantage of our Trolley offer and make the change to lithium
*£50 Cash Back on any trolley with a Lithium Battery!
Offer ends on the 24th December

Callaway Great Big Bertha Driver
After experiencing a great year with the Big Bertha Range from Callaway it was hard to believe anything would outperform the Big Bertha, however I was proved wrong when Callaway released the GREAT Big bertha!
My first initial thought when picking up the driver is how good the club sits on the ground. Its matt finish crown and forgiving look fills you with confidence when you are on the tee, this is always a bonus with a nervy first tee shot and helps you to commit to the shot.
The standard stock shafts which are built into the clubs are far superior to the older Callaway models with top of the range leading shaft brands built in with no extra cost!
The adjustable head design means you can adjust the weights in the club to suit any golfer, this is great for changing the performance of the driver all year round. For example in the summer you can move the weights further forward in the head to promote lower spin and greater roll on the fairways. For the winter you can increase the loft on the club head so you can gain more carry and experience greater distance.
This Driver is Callaway's most forgiving driver for 2015 and I believe it could carry on this way for years to come!
What technology makes the driver perform so well?
The Great Big Bertha Driver is the best combination of materials Callaway have ever invented. The aerodynamic head shape and multi-material lightweight club design is the key to generating higher club head speed through aerodynamics. Similar to the other Callaway drivers its head is fully adjustable meaning you can add loft, take loft off or adjust the lie angle to fit your swing.
